The Top 4 Reasons People Choose Keto

The Keto diet is both versatile and easy to follow (there are some key guidelines but the rest is up to you!), which makes it an excellent choice for anyone that may want to put their health and weight first.

In fact, the keto world is so varied that we love finding out more about our clients and their reasons for taking it up in the first place. While its not the exact same, being low carb is also an option for those who are able to see progress on a slightly higher carb count.

Keto for Weight Loss

Possibly the most common reason for choosing keto is to lose weight. A low-carb diet is proven to be nearly twice as effective as a low-calorie diet. This is because of ketosis - when your body gets to ketosis then it will start burning fat as its primary action rather than opting to burn glucose first.

The other great reason people choose keto for weight loss is because it keeps you full so that there are no hunger pangs to have to deal with and you still get to enjoy regular and healthy weight loss. Once you've gotten over the dreaded Keto Flu as is the case with most things its becomes easier to follow. 

 

Keto for Diabetes

If you are diabetic or pre-diabetic then keto may be the perfect choice for you! Eating keto provides you with a lower blood sugar level consistently, making it easy for your body to process the small amount of carbs that you so eat.

High-carb diets result in the overproduction of insulin and can cause blood sugar swings that make you feel incredibly hungry without being able to satisfy your need. Keto stops all of these reactions and allows you to enjoy a healthy life. Of course its important to talk to a doctor especially if you are setting out on a low carb or ketogenic diet for medical reasons. [1]

If your child has been diagnosed with epilepsy and their body appears to be resisting treatment then keto may be the cure! Many studies have shown that when their keto diet is monitored by doctors, there can be a marked improvement in their seizure rate and overall health.

  • It is good for your brain - Many people with conditions such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s find that their brains are unable to use glucose effectively, meaning that by using ketones as fuel, they will be able to enjoy improved brain function.
